Biography
Inmaculada Jiménez González got her graduate diploma in Art Conservation in the Faculty of Fine Art at the University of Granada (SPAIN) in 1995. In 1997 she was awarded a grant by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?Section of Cultural and Scientific Relations for a post-graduate study, which she spent in Rome at the Central Institute for restoration. Later, after completing her PhD courses at Granada University, she was supported by the Kress foundation (NYC) to pursue her PhD research, which she did at Princeton University (NJ, USA) under the guidance of Prof. G. Scherer, with the additional supervision of Dr. Carlos Rodriguez Navarro (University of Granada) and Dr. George Wheeler (Metropolitan Museum of art). Her research has focused on the weathering of clay bearing stones, in particular Portland Brownstone. She has coauthored five papers on this subject and will soon defend her PhD thesis at the University of Granada.
