On May 2, Ed Matteo successfully defended his thesis entitled, “Assessing Wellbore Integrity During Carbon Sequestration in Depleted Oil Reservoirs”. This work has resulted in several papers, including “Experimental Study of the Diffusion-Controlled Acid Degradation of Class H Portland Cement”, recently published in Int. J. Greenhouse Gas Control. He has also made several presentations at international conferences, including the 10th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Technologies (GHGT-10) and the 9th Annual Conference on Carbon, Capture, Sequestration. Ed will join the research staff at Sandia National Laboratory this fall.
